In addition to getting you fit after an injury, we want to stop you from becoming injured or unwell in the first place. This service is made up of the following:
1. Injury prevention –
- Analysing jobs to determine if they are predisposing factors to injury.
- Training / advice and education.
- Exercise programmes to increase fitness levels and work tolerance as evidence clearly shows that our body tissues become weaker and more likely to become injured with inactivity and stronger and more durable with graded exercise. .
2. Health screening -
- Height and weight
- Body Mass Index (BMI) – a measure of weight compared to height and indicates if you are the correct weight, over weight or obese with the increased health risks this poses.
- Resting heart rate – this gives an indication of your cardiovascular fitness. The higher the rate the less fit you are.
- Blood pressure – If this is too high it will increase your risk of stroke and other serious medical problems.
- Percentage body fat – This gives a simple and fairly accurate measure of how much fat you are carrying. Too much can be dangerous.
- Lung capacity / peak flow.
- Cardiovascular fitness.
- Level of stress
3. Holistic -
- Sports massage to relax or rejuvenate you.
- NLP techniques to help you feel more positive,
happy and confident.
